Sometimes it's just hard to rise above the dumb stuff. To look the other way when foolishness rears it head. To turn a deaf ear to lies and innuendos.  And when the dumb stuff, foolishness, lies and innuendos are directed it you, then it is even more difficult to keep your wits about you and avoid the "oh hell naw" moment. I'm guilty! I admit it! So, I guess that's why an unknowing colleague sent me (and others) the words of wisdom below. In sharing with you, I hope that you too will find the strength to Rise Above & Fly Like an Eagle!

This morning, I woke up in time to watch Joel Osteen. While I know that there are many who might not appreciate his message, I always find his ministry as a source of inspiration. This morning was no different and I'm claiming today's message for my own life.

Of course, I knew exactly what he meant, but it became clear while I listend to CNN's Rick Sanchez's take on the speech, that for those times when the POTUS decides to speak "Negro" some method of translation might be required for those not proficient in the language. But, then while listening to the POTUS today, I found myself howling with laughter once again because while he was speaking I was translating his words into "Negro".

I've got to give a shout out to the folks over at  W.E.E. See You. They have a vibe going on over there is right on the money and always speaks the truth no matter how much it might hurt. Not just saying that because yours' truly has a guest post over there - but, because its the truth!

Like many, I woke up this morning to the news of the 8.8 magnitude earthquake in Chile. The impact of this quake has Hawaii - over 6000 miles away - bracing for an inevitable Tsunami. I thought to myself that surely this is yet another sign that the end is near. But then I thought about a conversation I had with my Brother about the end of the world.

When I and the rest of the world learned that Tiger Woods would make a statement regarding his infidelity, I was thoroughly pissed off! Hell! He's not the leader or would be leader of the Free World, or a governor gallivanting around the world on state funds to get a piece, or using his state-issued phone to have text-sex with someone other than his wife.
