Good Morning, Sojourners. Sunday Inspirations, a weekly feature here at Sojourner's Place, is just one way to help get us through the week ahead, the trials we may face, and yes, to say Thank Ya and testify!
Today, my thoughts and prayers continue to be with the people of Haiti. In watching the coverage of the devastation and destruction, I realize that there is no way for me to truly comprehend the magnitude of their suffering. The images, the sights, and the sounds being broadcast, I suspect, captures mere glimpses of horrifying realities of the past 6 days. I have been brought to tears as I prayed for God to wrap Haiti in His loving arms as they go through this "valley". In doing so, I the following verses reminded me that God heals all wounds, rights wrongs, and is good all the time. As such, I share them with you today.
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3,7
Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
If there be among you a poor man of one of thy brethren within any of thy gates in thy land which the LORD thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thine heart, nor shut thine hand from thy poor brother: But thou shalt open thine hand wide unto him, and shalt surely lend him sufficient for his need, in that which he wanteth. Deuteronomy 15:7-11
