Good Morning, Sojourners. Sunday Inspirations, a weekly feature here at Sojourner's Place, is just one way to help get us through the week ahead, the trials we may face, and yes, to say Thank Ya and testify! I invite you to participate in this weekly meme as your contribution might serve as an inspiration to someone in need.
I continue to be inspired by the images and voices coming out of the Haitian ruins. Yes, the devastating is immense and the loss of lives is far beyond horrible. But, it is very clear to me that despite attempts to convey otherwise, the spirit, hope, resilience, and faith of the Haitian people continue to prevail.
The Haitian story is, in my opinion, a modern day story of Job. With the exception that Job was a man of means, he like the Haitians had everything taken away. So many Haitians, like Job, have felt the grief of losing loved ones, felt the pangs of hunger, and the despair of helplessness. Yet, through it all, Job lifted his hands and heart in thankfulness and praise to out Lord in Heaven; and so have the Haitians.
It is clear to me that God's Hands are all over Haiti and her people. We continue to witness survivors being pulled from the rubble even after search and rescue attempts have ceased. We continue to see crowds of hundreds and even thousands of Haitians without adequate food or shelter that are self-governing and orderly. In "I told you so" like manner, MSM outlets try to find outbursts or sustained instances of heinous behavior and activity. Yet , such attempts are continuously overshadowed with the sounds of praise and hope coming from the earthquake victims.
Even Satan's promise to restore Job to prosperity and quality of life could not distract or sway him from the goodness and faithfulness of God's grace for those who love Him. It is impossible for any person, people or nation opting to take the devil at his word to able to stand steadfast on the Lord while giving Him All the praise, honor, and glory as we see from the people of Haiti. AS can be seen in the following clips, it is impossible to serve God and Satan!
