Good Morning, Sojourners. Sunday Inspirations, a weekly feature here at Sojourner's Place, is just one way to help get us through the week ahead, the trials we may face, and yes, to say Thank Ya and testify!I know, Sojourners, that I have been pretty much MIA for a while here at Sojourner's Place and the blogsphere. I've had a whole lot going on and a whole lot that I've had to sort through. But, this morning in searching for some inspiration and peace for myself, the words "Let Go and Let God" came to mind. In doing so, I sojourned across a piece written by sneedc over at eHow entitled How to Let Go and Let God. I pray that it will be as much of a blessing and source of inspiration for you as it was for me.
As Christians, we know God is not only in charge of the Universe at large, but He also knows how many hairs are on each of our heads; so I ask you, would a loving Father such as this leave us hanging out to dry? NO!"
Here's the deal, I encourage you to try it for yourself and see if it works for you; if it does not, fine, go back to worrying but if it does...the only thing you have to lose here is the ability to stop worrying yourself into an early grave.
Instructions:
Step 1: WHEN A PROBLEM ARISES--immediately turn it over to God for His assessment and full handling. Do not take it back, for this would be an insult to HIM, and we know you don't want to do that!!!
Step 2: IF HE REQUIRES MORE INPUT FROM YOU--he will put something additional on your plate for you.
Step 3: IF YOU TRY TO HANDLE IT YOURSELF--you are only slowing down the process of getting it out of your life for good because you have already turned it over for processing. Think of it this way, it's like if I were to ask you to do my dishes and you agreed; then I show up with rubber gloves, a sponge, and detergent, only to find you're standing there, thinking how wrong that is. You agreed to do it, so why am I taking over? This is overkill, and it demonstrates a lack of trust on my part.
Step 4: HELLO?! This is probably how God feels when we hand over our problems and then continue worrying about them. Don't get me wrong, we need to be concerned about issues in our lives, but needless/excessive worry is something altogether different.
Has anyone ever told you Einstein's definition for insanity? Insanity is when you do the same thing over and over again and expect a different result. Noone wants to be
labeled as insane, and yet we are all guilty of continually handing over our problems, only to take them back and continue worrying. Break that cycle!
Step 5: So try it now--the sooner the better, and let me know how it worked out for you whether you stick with it or quit. I am not worried, as I know you won't let me down!
Much Obliged...
Very Much Obliged to you for hearing me ~ ~
