Wars and Rumors of Wars

Is God Trying to Tell Us Something?

Did you know that in the past seven days, there has been 224 earthquakes? There are wars and rumors of war. There is famine and despair. It is hard not to believe that we will see End of Time during this generation. Perhaps there is something to this 2012 thing that seems to foretell that our days are certainly numbered.

Mother Earth Quakes

Haiti Still Stands!

Five days ago, without warning or forethought, Mother Earth shook, opened, and left nothing less than utter devastation, despair, and grief. All along her path, like a savaged and hungry beast, she swallowed her young, her elders, and her future. Was this land, in her mind, to become like Atlantis.

Hattie and the President

This truth according to SjP for Monday, September 07, 2009
For her portrayal of "Mammy" in Gone with the Wind, Hattie McDaniel became the first African American to win an Academy Award in any category. Anticipating that she just might win the coveted award over fellow "Winder-Nominee", Olivia de Havilland, studio executives wrote her acceptance speech to make sure that it was appropriate for a 1940s woman of color.

That was 1940. And today, in 2009, the President of the United States, a person of color, has to make sure that his speech to American school children is appropriate. I remember learning somewhere that in America, censorship was against the law. I remember hearing somewhere that a former President of the United States said to all Americans to "Ask not what your Country can do for you. Ask what you can do for your Country". I remember reading somewhere that a man calling 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue a temporary home signed a law vouching to leave no child behind educationally; and his father even went into a school with his wife to tell children about the importance of education.

Oh well, I guess for this President, and for all people of color, the rules continue to change. So, what else is new? Anyway, just in case you haven't had a chance to see the infamous speech that the President will deliver to our children tomorrow, I've posted part of it below. But, I gotta tell you that on Wednesday, I'm hoping and praying that the President will tell these dumba$$es to "kiss his black a$$". But, I guess that wouldn't be "appropriate for a "2009 person of color".
Hello everyone – how’s everybody doing today? I’m here with students at Wakefield High School in Arlington, Virginia. And we’ve got students tuning in from all across America, kindergarten through twelfth grade. I’m glad you all could join us today. I know that for many of you, today is the first day of school. And for those of you in kindergarten, or starting middle or high school, it’s your first day in a new school, so it’s understandable if you’re a little nervous.

I imagine there are some seniors out there who are feeling pretty good right now, with just one more year to go. And no matter what grade you’re in, some of you are probably wishing it were still summer, and you could’ve stayed in bed just a little longer this morning.

I know that feeling. When I was young, my family lived in Indonesia for a few years, and my mother didn’t have the money to send me where all the American kids went to school. So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself, Monday through Friday – at 4:30 in the morning.

Now I wasn’t too happy about getting up that early. A lot of times, I’d fall asleep right there at the kitchen table. But whenever I’d complain, my mother would just give me one of those looks and say, "This is no picnic for me either, buster." (Full Text)

hmmm.... this reminds me! I need to check that letter the oldest young-SjP received from then President Clinton a few years back as part of a classroom assignment. We all know how questionable his morals are. Gotta make sure that he wasn't trying to redefine for her then young and impressionable mind what "is" is.

Very Much Obliged to you for hearing me ~ ~
