He passed away before he could see his beloved Chicago White Sox win the world series or his grandchildren become third-generation college graduates. He passed away before he could watch one grandchild follow in his footsteps of being the second-leg of a record breaking high school relay team. He passed away before he could hold his two great-grandchildren in his arms and give them some strange nickname like only he could do.

Nearly 26 years ago my Father passed away, but on this day he is always remembered. Today, would have been my Father's 79th birthday - and I honor and remember him with the posting of his favorite Gospel song.
